 Material Handler Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for inspecting material entering the yard and directing the carrier to the proper drop off location. Actively participates and displays behaviors of the company values. Must have a valid driver’s license. 

• Inspection of inbound loads 
• Purchasing material by appropriate grade and pricing structure 
• Keep incoming material segregated and work with vendors on using bins for sorting mixed loads such as Mixed Cast, Auto Cast, Clean Sheet, Foundry Steel, etc. 
• Maintain a 100% inspection ticket program 
• Ensure that scale traffic is kept moving in and out during busy times 
• Work with customers to help insure repeat customers 
• Work with Account Executives on special purchases and pricing
• Back up office personnel 
• Work with checking inbound loads of customers that need training, be able to record problem areas take pictures and measurements and work with Sales to insure proper inbound material is being purchased 
• Inspect all outbound loads 
• Be able to view outbound load sheets and ensure that material is available for those loads 

Material Handler Qualifications: 

• Six months experience
• Ability to work independently 
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds 
• Self-motivated 
• Attention to detail 
• Proven customer service skills 
• Safety conscious 
• Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment 
• Must have Hi-lo experience
